The purpose of the Charlotte Prep Parent PA is to promote parent awareness, interest, and participation in the life of the school, supporting our mission and strengthening the educational experience our children receive.
The PA enhances the cultural and curriculum goals of the School by providing opportunities to support the school and its programs, and exchanges ideas and information among the parents, faculty, administration, and trustees.
The PA Board works closely with the Head of School, the senior administrative team, and the Board of Trustees to ensure PA activities and communications are aligned with and support the mission, values, and core values of the School. All parents are members of the PA and are welcome to participate to the best of their ability, as time permits.
The Charlotte Prep Parents Association Executive Board consists of the President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, and division liaisons. The officers, committee chairpersons, and class representatives are listed here. For information on how to become involved, contact our PA.

Parent involvement in school life is an honored tradition at Charlotte Prep. We know a healthy, respectful partnership between home and school is a critical element of an exemplary education, and we encourage parents to volunteer, finding the ways that work best for them.
A successful Charlotte Prep family:
We encourage you to explore our Parent Life at Charlotte Prep and the many ways for you to become involved. If you have questions, contact our Development Office for additional information via our Contact page.
A kickoff to the school year that the whole family will enjoy! Meet new and veteran Charlotte Prep families in a carnival atmosphere with rides, games, and prizes. Volunteers are needed for the day of the event to set up, take tickets, run games, man the popular “Teacher Time Auction”, coordinate the traditional “Cake Walk”, and event clean up.
The PA welcomes back the faculty and staff with a catered brunch on their first day back to Charlotte Prep.
We traditionally partner in the fall with a bookstore off-campus. In the spring, the book fair is held on campus in conjunction with Grandparents’ Day. These events help foster a lifelong love of books and reading, enrich classroom libraries, and raise funds for the School.
One or two parent volunteers promote, collect, and send in Box Tops to raise additional funds for the School.
Each spring, the committee coordinates a week-long celebration of our faculty and staff. Committee members collect gift cards to be distributed at a brunch or luncheon during that week.
Committee members select a theme and location, organize invitations, music, refreshments, and photography for the event. Volunteers are needed for planning, setting up, and working at the event.
A lovely Charlotte Prep tradition! Volunteers help decorate and welcome guests for this beautiful event filled with special performances honoring our grandparents.
The annual Blue and Gold social is a volunteer-driven event. Parents, relatives, staff, and friends turn out for an evening of good food, lively entertainment, and an opportunity to support the School through a targeted fund-raising opportunity. The funds raised at previous auctions have benefited our students and school in many ways. In recent years, auction proceeds have provided extensive professional development opportunities to faculty and staff, allowed for the deployment of Smart Boards and other technologies in classrooms, purchased fine arts materials, and upgraded school signage.
The Dads' Club is a time-honored tradition at Charlotte Preparatory School where Dads are a welcome part of our daily life of the school, and we encourage all our Dads to participate in various ways as schedules permit.
Each year, Charlotte Prep dedicates two full weeks, one in November and one in April, to our Dads. We invite you to join your student(s) in the classroom to participate in age-appropriate activities. As these weeks approach, more information and details will be circulated for ways to be involved and participate.
Help our Drama program by constructing and/or painting sets and props for the fall and spring performances. There will be power tools!
The spring Dad's Week hosts our annual Dad's Pancake Breakfast where Dads volunteer to fill our students and faculty with chocolate chip pancakes, sausages, orange juice and more!
Research clearly shows that a positive partnership between the home and the school has a powerful influence on a child’s achievement and sense of belonging in the school. Parent volunteers enrich daily school life, and enable teachers to focus on their most important jobs – teaching. Charlotte Prep strongly encourages parents to become involved in the school and to nurture a partnership with the school administration, faculty, and staff.
