At every grade level, deep learning feels like true adventure at Charlotte Prep. Beginning with our Montessori Early School, Prep empowers our students to follow their natural curiosity into a thoughtful, deep interest in the world around them.

One way we provide a hands-on experience to even our youngest learners is the uninterrupted work cycle: Our students move through classroom activity stations independently, coming to their own mastery of many tasks and materials—from tracing geographic shapes using paper and templates to counting groups of manipulable objects.
 

In our Lower School, concrete, active learning continues to engage young minds and hands, even as concepts become more complex and understandings deepen across disciplines.

Over time, the natural excitement of our Kindergarteners grows into the confident leadership of our fourth graders. These pivotal moments of exploration and discovery dovetail across our curriculum to prepare students for what's next.

During their Middle School years, our students retain a childlike delight in new ideas and experiences, unabashedly loving to learn. At the same time, they develop academic discipline and intellectual maturity far beyond their years. They shine in the sixth-grade persuasive speech project, form meaningful connections with their younger BUDEEs, inspire schoolmates with their Ignite presentations, and engage in purposeful community service.

When our graduates leave Prep, they carry with them the leadership experience, academic skills, personal confidence, and real kindness they need to stand out in high school, succeed in college—and thrive in life itself.
