Welcome to Charlotte Preparatory School, where each child is an important part of our story.
At Prep, our students are treasured not just as learners but as individuals. Our PreK-8 model allows children to be children a little longer and leaders a little sooner. Through the wonderful opportunities—in the classroom, through our extracurricular programming, and in life itself—this time-tested and research-supported structure allows us to prepare empathetic leaders, analytical learners, and thoughtful friends ready to leave a legacy of positive change in every environment they touch.
Intentionally scaled at around 400 students, Charlotte Prep is just the right size. We are large enough to offer a rich and rigorous academic and creative learning curriculum. We are also small enough to ensure that every child is genuinely seen, heard, and known.

We value character and integrity, and while our students are allowed to be children a little longer, they are also supported in becoming confident and compassionate leaders a little sooner. We recognize and appreciate the richness of a diverse student body, which accounts for approximately 40% of our population. When our students graduate, they are ready to make their way in a wider world—and to make their corner of that world a better place.
