We are committed to providing a healthy

and safe learning environment

With a full-time registered nurse, a top-rated dining hall partner, and two student counselors, our resources revolve around our students’ health and well-being. Our goal is to provide individualized quality care, encourage parent-child communication and involvement, and provide health education so students can focus on learning and engaging in the classroom. To help us achieve this, we have partnered with Magnus Health, an online HIPAA-compliant database.

Counselors’ Corner

Caring for the Whole Child

Charlotte Prep has invested in Second Step, a school-wide social and emotional learning program. This program will enhance our inherent community culture and give students the tools to excel in and out of the classroom. Second Step will foster social-emotional competencies, including cognitive flexibility, self-management, relationship building, and conflict resolution. These skills will serve students immediately and facilitate the development of resilient and adaptable individuals. Our teachers and staff will receive ongoing training to implement Second Step in their classrooms.

In addition, our counseling team supports the mental, social, and emotional well-being of all our students. Our school counselors, nurse, and staff are committed to supporting the whole child and each child’s needs.

Safety and Security

The safety and security of our students is a top priority at Charlotte Prep and one which we have invested in heavily. See some of the recent improvements we've made to our campus.

  • A full-time Director of Safety of Security with a background as a former federal law enforcement officer.
  • Secure access control on parameter fencing and all buildings.
  • An extensive camera surveillance system
  • A visitor management system with background checks and one-time-use badges.
  • A comprehensive emergency protocol with mandatory staff training and regular drills.
  • Strong relationships with local law enforcement and fire department.
  • Periodic security risk assessments to continually improve campus safety.
  • On-site weather monitoring system to alert the community of impending weather events.

“I feel a sense of pride knowing that my daughter is loved here. They talk about everyone knowing her name but it’s more than that. They know her. They know me. They know my family.”
