Building community, connection,
and character
The Charlotte Prep experience is built on relationships—transformative connections between students and educators, genuine bonds between classmates and schoolmates, and true partnerships between the school and our families.
We are big enough to sustain a vibrant, active school community and small enough to ensure that every person in it is known as an individual and can play a vital part in the whole. The ties we form last a lifetime, in alumni memories and in their continuing relationships with Prep friends and teachers.
We are bound by our shared values, rallying around our Four Pillars—Integrity, Perseverance, Courage, and Respect for self and others.
These key values guide the way we teach and learn and shape our interactions with each other. Prep students learn empathy, honesty, and leadership, shaped by our intentional and interwoven character education programming.
“I feel a sense of pride knowing that my daughter is loved here. They talk about everyone knowing her name but it’s more than that. They know her. They know me. They know my family.”
—Lower School Parent
Our community is also defined by our deep appreciation of the richly varied, intricately connected world around us. Over forty percent of our student body represents diverse nationalities and ethnicities, but statistics alone don’t tell the full story of the vibrancy and beauty of our school.
Our students learn with and from people of many backgrounds and beliefs, becoming thinkers who appreciate a breadth of perspectives, celebrate difference, and listen with open hearts and minds.
