Education: Anabel Kay has over four decades of Montessori experience. She began her career as an assistant and co-teacher in 1982. Anabel has taught at Massapequa and Plainview Montessori, Commack Montessori, and West Hills Montessori. She was drawn to Montessori education at just 15 years old after observing a Montessori classroom and immediately knowing it was where she belonged. While she always aspired to be a teacher, the Montessori philosophy deeply resonated with her values and approach. At Charlotte Prep, she appreciates the child-centered professional environment and the collaborative support for students’ well-being. Anabel views herself as a guide, helping children reach their full potential through respect, understanding, and independence. Teaching fulfills her desire to contribute meaningfully to the world and make it a better place. Outside of school, Anabel loves hiking, kayaking, and spending time outdoors. She is of Cuban descent and enjoys sharing her culture and food with others. Charlotte Prep employee since 2010 |
