Biography

Education:
B.S., Elementary Education (Early Childhood / Multicultural Strand), Ohio State University

Emily Tucker began her teaching career in 1991 and has worked with students across multiple grade levels in Ohio, Texas, and North Carolina. After several years in the classroom, she transitioned into a leadership role as the lead elementary science curriculum coordinator for Union County Public Schools, where she supported and facilitated science instruction for over 900 teachers across 30 schools. In 2015, Emily completed a three-year STEM Fellowship through Discovery Place and joined the Charlotte Prep community as the lower school STEM specialist. Under her leadership, Charlotte Prep was recognized as a Top STEM Program by Charlotte Parent magazine readers in 2017. Emily is passionate about sharing science, technology, engineering, and math initiatives with students, faculty, and families, and she values the diversity and close-knit nature of the Prep community.
