We are so proud of the Charlotte Preparatory School graduating class of 2025! These students have shown themselves time and time again as exceptional scholars, athletes, and artists. But more importantly, they model the values of our core pillars, and that is the lifelong mark of a Prep graduate that they will carry with them.

With a strong sense of self and guidance from our placement team, 8th grader Collins G. navigated the high school admissions process with confidence. After earning acceptances to four top schools, she made a thoughtful decision based on fit, values, and vision for her future.

I had a teacher in elementary school who one day told me I was an average math student. I am not sure how she thought this was helpful feedback, but from that point forward, I internalized her comment and became, in fact, an average math student. One teacher. One comment. Dramatic outcome.

For the second year in a row, a Charlotte Prep lifer has earned the prestigious Morehead-Cain Scholarship. Meha Khanna, a Prep alum who attended Providence Day School for high school, joins Cassie Miller, who received the same honor last year.

It has been exciting and interesting to witness the latest phase of the construction of our new lower school. From initially seeing the building in two-dimensional mock-ups and drawings to now seeing it rise before us, we are getting a whole new perspective on what the building will actually look like and how it will function.

Over spring break, 12 students middle school students traveled with their teachers to Costa Rica for a week-long educational adventure. This immersive trip allowed them to experience firsthand the topics they’ve been exploring in science, Spanish, and math, while also embracing Costa Rica’s vibrant culture and natural wonders.

Lennon’s foray into business started with something all too familiar—migraines. He has struggled with them since childhood, but one day his great-aunt Connie introduced him to a homemade remedy.

When I was 12, there was a bike that most kids coveted: a Schwinn Varsity. They came in typical 70s colors: bright green and red, powder blue, gold, and had—wait for it—10 speeds. One of my friends was the first of our gang to get one, and we were all jealous. Until the day we decided to ride our bikes to the top of a parking garage and race to the bottom.

It was just before our holiday break in December, and I was walking by the Early School playground to get lunch. As often happens, a group of students gathered to talk with me. At one point a student came over to the fence and asked, “Mr. Marblo, are you real?”

Join us in welcoming Todd Ballaban as the next head of school at Charlotte Prep! He will begin his new role in July 2025.
