Prep Alum Commits to Hondurans in Need
January 10th, 2023
A member of an already incredibly impressive class that has earned early decision admissions at schools including Harvard, Kenyon, Northeastern, and NYU, this Prep lifer is off to Tulane next year with altruistic plans for the future.
After a life-changing summer volunteering with the Red Cross surgical brigade in Honduras, Jeffrey Webb (Prep Class of ‘19) will study Public Health and Spanish at Tulane so that he can continue to give back to this community in need. Jeffrey plans to return to Honduras this year and for many years to come.
“Those folks are in need at a completely different level. To be able to help them is awesome. It’s worth it to me to fly down there, ride on the back of a jeep to get to their village, and live without running water or electricity for a week and a half.”

Jeffrey is currently a senior at the prestigious McCallie boarding and day school for boys in Chattanooga, TN. He is student body president, as he was during middle school at Prep, and has a lot to say about how his foundational years at Prep led him down this path.
“I think Prep does a great job of progressing you from 5th grade to 8th grade with more and more independence. The academic rigor increases at a similar pace, so when I came to McCallie as a freshman, I was prepared for that.”

A few months ago, Jeffrey was inducted into McCallie’s senior leadership organization, Keo-Kio. Jeffrey credits Prep for providing his first leadership and service experiences, starting in early school when his teacher would appoint a different “class leader” each day, through to student council and volunteering at a homeless shelter all four years of middle school.
"During his time at Prep, Jeffrey was always an outstanding example of the type of young leader we endeavor to develop. I'm proud to see him using this skill set to serve others."
